Thursday, Feb 14th, (yes, indeedy, Valentine’s Day) will see Trumpet Consort von Humboldt teaming up with pipe organ in a program titled ”Pipes from the Heart.” This 45-minute concert has works by Purcell, Franceschini, with special bits including a love song round, the audience surrounded by all six trumpets. Other titles include “Innsbruck, I must leave you,” and the famous “Mille Regretz.” Oh, and a little pop tune titled “Heart & ___” for the trumpets. More importantly, there WILL be chocolate!
We hope you can join us Friday, April 5th with Humboldt Bay Brass Band for our Spring Concert. This 8 pm concert will have band members in turn playing in brass quintets, leading to a “brassfest” of Venetian polychoral music …choirs of brass at left and right, then three choirs, ending with a work for four brass choirs surrounding the audience. Heaven!
If you’ve not checked out HBBB yet — we’re the only true, full Brass Band in Northern California; are 25 brass & 5 percussion; and play a wide variety of music, from marches to movies, and Gabrieli to grooves!
