Passion & Drama – Secular & Sacred
3015 North Main Street, Royal Oak, MI
Royal Oak — “Passion & Drama – Secular & Sacred” — The Five Lakes Silver Band (FLSB) will present a collection of wide-ranging pieces devoted to passion and drama. Tender love of one’s homeland is evoked by Philip Harper’s haunting Hebridean Lullaby, performed as a solo on Baritone Horn by Mike Fisher (Royal Oak). A dramatic and amusing double love story is the subject of Mozart’s beloved The Magic Flute. Sacred passion is the centerpiece of Eric Ball’s classic for brass band – Resurgam. Matt Taton (Midland), will perform the enduring love song My Love is Like a Red, Red Rose as a solo for Bb Cornet. The mystic drama of earth and heavenly spirits are portrayed in the Ballet from The Perfect Fool by Gustav Holst. Even comic dramatics get play with Philip Graham’s very entertaining Cartoon Music!
An engaging evening of musical drama awaits!
