NABBA PRESIDENT ANNOUNCES HOST CITY FOR NABBA CHAMPIONSHIPS 2019-2021

On behalf of the North American Brass Band Association Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce that the 2019, 2020, and 2021 NABBA Championships will be hosted once again in the beautiful city of Fort Wayne, Indiana. The 2018 contest will be our fourth year in Fort Wayne, and the Mayor as well as the Visit Fort Wayne Team have made it very clear that Fort Wayne wants to have a long-term relationship with NABBA. Thank you, Fort Wayne, for your continued support of our organization. We look forward to seeing you in April!

I also want to thank the other cities that submitted proposals for consideration. The new RFP will be open in 2020, and we will welcome all proposals for hosting NABBA at that time.

  1. I am disappointed in NABBA for not changing the venue once again. We want to compete with bands on the West coast too, and it is difficult for them to travel the distance to Indianna. We are brass bands, so why are we in a theater with acoustics that poorly demonstrate our full capability of playing? Dissapointed, once again. Please consider a better venue for the future.

    • Anna,

Sorry to hear you feel that way. We on the board are aware of the west coast bands, and would love to have you participate. We had our request for proposals on our website for over 6 months but, despite 5 cities expressing interest, we only had completed proposals and presentations from two cities.

Maybe you can work with your city to put in a proposal when we next post our request in 2020!
